What happens when someone takes a key.
Opened by fingerprint, card or code
Staff identify themselves on the touch screen. No mechanical key is needed to reach a compartment.
Every transaction recorded on video
Recorded alongside the audit trail, so a disputed return can be checked. Reviewable remotely.
Told when a compartment is held too long
Set how long an item may stay in a compartment and the system notifies you if one is occupied past that.
Still opens in a power failure

Who uses electronic key cabinets?
MATRIX electronic key cabinets suit sites where many people share many keys: schools, colleges and universities, and organisations that secure equipment such as radios and tools. Each key stays in its own locked compartment, and only the people you authorise can take it.
Frequently asked questions
How do electronic key cabinets control who takes a key?
People identify themselves at the cabinet, with a fingerprint or an RFID tag, and it releases only the keys they are allowed to take. Every movement is recorded.
How many keys can a MATRIX cabinet hold?
The largest unit, the Ultra, holds up to 1,386 key sets in one unit, and extension units can be added to it. The Frame and Compact ranges suit smaller sites.
Can I see who took a key and when?
Yes. The cabinet keeps a record of every movement and can send real time alerts. A video camera is available as an option.
Need electronic key cabinets for your site?
We help you size the cabinet to your key count, and support it once it is in service.
